Our Work

Project Portfolio

A selection of engagements where L5 provided independent quality oversight. Project names are withheld per client confidentiality — outcomes speak for themselves.

Data CenterProject 01

Hyperscale Data Center — Structured Cabling Oversight

Provided continuous on-site QA oversight for the structured cabling and fiber infrastructure of a new hyperscale data center build. Embedded with the GC's project team from mobilization through final acceptance testing.

Location

Pacific Northwest

Scope

500,000 sq ft

Duration

14 months

The Challenge

Multiple telecom subcontractors working in parallel across a fast-track schedule created significant coordination gaps. Installation quality varied widely between crews, and documentation was falling behind the work.

The Outcome

Identified and resolved 340+ documented deficiencies before owner walkthrough. Zero failed acceptance tests at turnover. Delivered a complete QA documentation package that satisfied the owner's commissioning requirements.

Key Results

  • 340+ deficiencies identified and resolved pre-acceptance
  • Zero failed acceptance tests at turnover
  • Full QA documentation package delivered at closeout
  • Coordinated across 4 telecom subcontractors
General ContractorProject 02

Class A Office Tower — Telecom Subcontractor Audit

Engaged by the GC to perform an independent compliance audit of the telecom subcontractor's work on a 32-story Class A office tower. The owner had flagged quality concerns during a routine walkthrough.

Location

Mountain West

Scope

32-story, 800,000 sq ft

Duration

6 months

The Challenge

The telecom subcontractor had completed roughly 60% of the installation before quality concerns were raised. Work was spread across 32 floors with inconsistent labeling, undocumented changes from the approved submittals, and several pathway violations.

The Outcome

Produced a floor-by-floor findings report with photographic documentation. Worked with the GC and subcontractor to develop a remediation plan that was completed on schedule. Final audit confirmed full compliance before owner acceptance.

Key Results

  • Floor-by-floor photographic findings report
  • Remediation plan developed and executed on schedule
  • Full compliance confirmed at final audit
  • Prevented owner withholding of final payment
Telecom ContractorProject 03

Regional Healthcare System — Internal QA Program

Partnered with a regional telecom contractor to develop and implement an internal QA program across a 12-facility healthcare system rollout. L5 served as the contractor's embedded quality resource.

Location

Southwest

Scope

12 facilities

Duration

Ongoing

The Challenge

The contractor had won a large multi-site healthcare contract but lacked a formal QA process. Healthcare environments require strict documentation, infection control compliance during installation, and zero tolerance for rework in occupied spaces.

The Outcome

Developed installation checklists, inspection protocols, and documentation templates tailored to healthcare requirements. Achieved a 94% first-pass inspection rate across all 12 facilities. The contractor has since used the program as a competitive differentiator in subsequent bids.

Key Results

  • QA program developed from scratch for healthcare environments
  • 94% first-pass inspection rate across 12 facilities
  • Zero infection control violations during installation
  • Program adopted as ongoing contractor standard
Data CenterProject 04

Colocation Facility — Acceptance Testing Oversight

Provided independent oversight of acceptance testing for a 200-cabinet colocation expansion. The owner required a third-party witness and documentation review before accepting the work from the installing contractor.

Location

Southeast

Scope

200-cabinet colocation expansion

Duration

3 months

The Challenge

The installing contractor's test documentation was incomplete and inconsistently formatted, making it difficult for the owner to verify that all circuits had been tested to specification. Several test results were flagged as questionable.

The Outcome

Reviewed all test documentation, identified 28 circuits requiring re-testing, and witnessed re-tests to confirm compliance. Delivered a consolidated acceptance package that gave the owner clear, auditable evidence of full circuit compliance.

Key Results

  • 100% of test documentation reviewed and verified
  • 28 circuits identified for re-testing and confirmed compliant
  • Consolidated acceptance package delivered to owner
  • Owner accepted work with full confidence
